Xbox Sessions: The RZA of Wu-Tang Clan Plays Gears 5 and puts on a Trebuchet Chess Clinic

Gears 5 is absolutely my most anticipated game of the year! Today’s release of Gears 5 Ultimate Edition for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, and available for purchase on the Microsoft Store, coincides with the launch of my most anticipated television show of the year on Hulu: “Wu-Tang: An American Saga.” Today’s Xbox Sessions episode takes a closer look at both with guest gamer, The RZA of the infamous “Wu-Tang Clan,” and his son and fellow gamer, Rakeem.

Before gearing up for Gears 5, The RZA and Rakeem threw down in an action-packed round of…chess? That’s right, father and son battled head-to-head in an intense speed chess match before dawning their digital Lancers for some Gears 5 co-op action on Xbox One X, the world’s most powerful console. While the chess match may have ended with a handshake, you’ve got to tune in to see them team up in a Gears 5 combat that’s less than cordial.

The RZA also goes into detail about “Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” whose first three episodes are out now on Hulu with a new episode dropping every Wednesday. He compares Wu-Tang’s lyrics to concentrated grape juice, shares how he relaxes on the road, when he calls on Pac-Man for a brain-break, and what he wants to see in Wu-Tang’s future.

To honor the guest gamer and the premier of “Wu-Tang: An American Saga” on Hulu, we created the Wu-Tang Collectible Xbox One console – it’s an Xbox like you’ve never seen before and that you could win. This one-of-a-kind Xbox One truly brings the ruckus with a 3D printed turntable directly on the console. This Xbox-meets-turntable mashup looks so real you’ll think you can actually spin a “Wu-Tang Clan” record on it.

The logo for Wu-Tang: An American Saga rests on the record platter and graces an accompanying custom-designed Xbox One Wireless Controller. Keep your eyes on our Xbox Twitter channel starting Saturday, September 7 for your chance to win this one-of-a-kind Xbox One.

The Wu-Tang Collectible Xbox One console is for display purposes only and not intended for actual gameplay. No purchase necessary. Open to residents in Xbox Live supported countries, 18+.  Entries must be dated between 11:00 am PT September 7, 2019 and 10 p.m. PT on September 28, 2019. See official rules for details.

Gears 5 Ultimate Edition is also out today for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members and for purchase from the Microsoft Store for both Xbox One and Windows 10; the standard edition releases on September 10 and will be available for all Xbox Game Pass members timed to its global launch.

Hosted by Rukari Austin, don’t forget to check out the full episode with The RZA and Rakeem now on the Mixer Xbox Channel and YouTube Xbox Channel.
